2nd Hong Kong Financial Planner of The Year Award

Financial planning is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic professions in the territory. According to statistics compiled by the Census and Statistics Department and Planning Department of the Government of Hong Kong SAR, the financing, insurance, real estate and business services sector altogether employed about 457,000 persons in 1999, accounting for 14.8% of the working population.

This sector is projected to have the fastest growth in employment and will grow to 737,300 by 2010 and to 851,100 by 2030, representing 19.1% and 20.7% of the working population respectively.

The result of the Financial Planners of the Year Award 2004 was announced on 28 October 2004. The Award was presented by our honourable guest Ms Alexa Lam, Executive Director, Secutrities and Futures Commission. The Honourable, Tam Heung Man, Legislative Councillor was also presence during The Award Ceremony. Congratulation to Mr. Peter K.T. Wan, Partner of Princewaterhousecoopers, who received his Hon membership certificate form our Patron Dr. Edmund Tse. PFM Consulting Ltd has sponsored Top Student Award this year. Ms Linda Cheung, director of PFM presented the Top Student Award to Miss Jessica Chan. This year, the event was well publized by media, such as Hong Kong Economic Times, Oriental Daily, Ming Pao, Tai Kung Pao, ET Net, Infocast, Insurance Professional and IN Magazine.
