Application Procedures

1. Application
Application can be done in person or by mail to HKRFP by completing the Application Form together with the application fee and relevant supporting documents.

2. Application Form
Application Forms can be obtained in person at the HKRFP office or download from below.

3. Check list for application

  • Application Form signed and dated; and
    Application fee enclosed; and
    Your photos; and

  • Your Hong Kong Identity Card; or Your China Identity Card; and
    Supporting documentation for education and work experience qualifications enclosed;
    Signed recommendation from two Referees with professional designation to qualify your work experience; and

  • Application to Fellow Membership, please provide a description of significant recognized contribution to the profession, which should be certified by referees with professional designation membership.



4. Submission
Application fee must be submitted with the form together with a crossed cheque made payable to "Society of Registered Financial Planners" at: Unit E, 25 Floor CNT Tower, 338 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong upon receipt of the Application Form, an acknowledgement letter will be issued to the applicant.

5. Notification of Application Result
Results of Applications will be sent to the applicants within ONE MONTH upon receipt of application.

6. Unsuccessful Application
For unsuccessful applications, the administration fee will not be returned.
All paid examination fee will be refunded to the applicant for any unsuccessful applications.

Examination Entry Application:

2. Application Form

Application Form can be obtained in person at the HKRFP office or download from below.

3. Check list for application

Applications will only be accepted if the following requirements are met:

  • Application Form signed and dated; and
  • Application fee enclosed; and

    • Incomplete applications will not be processed until all requirements have been met.


    4. Submission

    Application fee must be submitted with the form together with a crossed cheque made payable to "Society of Registered Financial Planners" at: Unit E, 25 Floor CNT Tower, 338 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong Upon receipt of the Application Form, an acknowledgement letter will be issued to the applicant.

    5. Notification of Application Result

    Results of Applications will be sent to the applicants at least THREE WEEKS before the date of examination. For successful applicants, a notice of examination from HKRFP indicating that they are qualified to sit for the HKRFP Examinations will be sent to applicants.

    Candidates are required to keep the notice of examination and bring this notice together with his /her identity cards to the examination hall. This notice should be put on the top right corner of the desk for invigilator inspection..

    6. Unsuccessful Application

    All paid administration fee will NOT be returned to any unsuccessful applicants.
    All paid examination fee will be refunded to the applicant for any unsuccessful application.

    7. Admission Form

    Qualified candidates will receive an Notice of Examination (with time and location of the examination printed) at least TWO WEEKS before the date of examination.

    Candidates should contact HKRFP if they do not receive the Notice of Examination FIVE WORKING DAYS before the examination or if they find any mistakes on the form.

  • Relevant certificates and transcripts have to be enclosed;

    • Incomplete applications will not be processed until all requirements have been met.

Upon receipt of the Application Form, an acknowledgement letter will be issued to the applicant.
